Danube - The Iron Gate
Embark on a captivating journey as we depart from Belgrade in the morning, setting off for a scenic drive.
Our first stop takes us to one of Europe’s most stunning fortresses: Golubac Fortress, located where the Danube River is at its widest. This 15th-century stronghold, declared a cultural monument of exceptional importance, has recently undergone a complete restoration, preserving its grandeur. It’s not just a historical landmark but also a inspiration for countless artists and poets.
Next, we drive through a national park alongside the Danube River to reach Lepenski Vir, one of Europe’s most significant archaeological sites. Here, you’ll step back in time as you explore the remnants of an ancient Neolithic settlement.
Our journey continues through the breathtaking Djerdap Gorge (Iron Gate) and leads us to our final stop: Captain Misha’s Hill (Kapetan Misin Breg). This ethno complex offers a perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy a panoramic view of the Danube and the gorge.
This tour offers a perfect blend of history, nature, and culture—creating an experience you won’t forget!
